Faculty
The Office of the Faculty Ombuds provides informal, impartial, and independent assistance to faculty at 明星黑料. Our office is a confidential resource for seeking information on university conflict resolution processes and receiving guidance on a wide range of concerns or conflicts at no cost.
The Ombuds does not advocate for individuals or the institution and does not mediate disputes. Our primary role is to act as a source of information and a sounding board, helping you navigate your options. We do not replace the university’s existing resources or formal processes for conflict resolution, such as grievance procedures.
The Ombuds will:
- Provide a confidential environment to listen to your questions and concerns.
- Help you identify alternative options and appropriate resources.
- Explain university policies and procedures, including informal resolution and grievance options.
- Offer an impartial perspective on your situation.
- Assist with early strategizing to solve problems and minimize the potential for conflict to escalate.
- Identify patterns of emerging issues and, as needed, recommend university policy review based on these patterns.
Staff
The Staff Ombuds is a confidential, impartial, and independent resource dedicated to providing informal conflict resolution and problem-solving services to 明星黑料 staff. Our office is a private space to discuss work-related concerns and explore options for resolution before taking any formal action.
The Office of the Staff Ombuds does not offer legal advice and does not replace any of the university's formal processes for filing a complaint or grievance. All visits to our office are voluntary.
What Can the Staff Ombuds Do for You?
The Staff Ombuds is available to:
- Listen to your concerns in a supportive and confidential environment.
- Offer an impartial perspective to help you better understand and clarify your work-related situation.
- Provide an assessment of your situation and clarify the options available to you.
- Answer questions about appropriate channels and refer you to individuals who can address your concerns.
- Help identify strategies for communication and problem-solving to help you resolve conflicts more effectively.
- Recommend changes to university policies, rules, or procedures that may be outdated, unclear, or ineffective.
What the Staff Ombuds Does Not Do:
- Offer legal advice.
- Tell you what to do.
- Participate in any formal investigation.
- Accept formal complaints or serve as an office of notice.
- Replace the university's formal grievance process.
- Act on your behalf.
The information you share with the Office of the Staff Ombuds will not be shared with anyone else unless required to do so by law or in the case of an imminent threat of harm to yourself or others.
